We rocked up at Wembdon CC to kick-off our tour, slightly behind
schedule due to the traffic. Having won the toss, the Goodwill
asked to bat first. The first over was promising with 15 coming
from it including an absolutely effortless six from Disco Doshi.
However, the brakes were applied, the handbrake pulled up, and to
only muster 97 was not great.
Wembdon were strong with the bat, too strong, and without too much
fuss knocked off the runs in under half the overs. No-one bowled
that badly, but all went for a few. We then retired to the bar to
kick-off the tour properly and we did that in fine style consuming
plenty of alcoholic beverages. The various detours on the journey
home, apparently caused by a gas leak, along with the alcohol that
had and was being consumed, made for a jovial atmosphere and
plenty of banter and singing. (It's amazing how many songs you can
fit the word Pri to!)
